  10. SUBJECT: MIS  Bulletin categories - Part 1/2
  11.    The weekly RACES Bulletins are prepared for and by all commun-
  12. ications volunteers in government service -- not just the RACES.
  13.    All of our RACES bulletins now carry a 3 letter designator
  14. as an identifier of the subject category in response to requests
  15. from around the country. Note the example on this bulletin.
  16. The following identifiers are now used:
  17. MGT - for Management, Administrative and Policy topics.
  18. MIS - for Miscellaneous topics.
  19. OPS - for Operations, operating procedures, practices, and
  20. resources for emergency managers and responders.
  21. TEC - for Technical topics.
  22. TIM - for time related items, later to be deleted because their
  23. content is dated in nature.
  24.    RACES Bulletins will continue to be issued in numeric sequence
  25. with the subject category added.
  26.    In addition, a MAJOR REVISION soon will be available. It will
  27. be by TOPIC rather than by Number and contain all still useful
  28. material of the bulletins from l985 through l991. It will be
  29. pertinent and helpful to both the emergency manager and the
  30. emergency responder for reference and training purposes.
